Your future team

The AXIS OS System team consists of three following sub-teams: "OS Architects"-, "Events, Framework & System"- and the "Runtime"-team. These together are responsible for Linux user-space platform functionality, with focus on areas such as event frameworks, configuration management, data infrastructure and system services. Our mission is to create the most secure and reliable operative system, while ensuring ease of use for developers building new features. We are growing our AXIS OS System team in Lund, Sweden, and seeking a talented professional to join us as an Agile Team Lead. In this hybrid role, you will be a key contributor to the Runtime team, which is part of the broader AXIS OS System team.

What you will do

You will focus on the user space implementations working with tasks such as optimizing resource usage, enhancing data infrastructure, and developing sophisticated runtime components. You will be responsible for creating and maintaining the platform's capabilities, evolving its architecture, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure clear outcomes. This role offers the unique opportunity to work with state-of-the-art technologies within a company renowned for its stability and commitment to quality.

  • Act as a hands-on technical leader within the Runtime team, contributing significantly to the design, development, and maintenance of Linux system software.
  • Lead agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives, ensuring they are productive and effective.
  • Optimize resource utilization and ensure the stability and performance of AXIS OS, specifically within the Runtime team's domain.
  • Develop and integrate robust data infrastructure and configuration frameworks, with a focus on runtime components.
  • Actively contribute to, and leverage, open-source software initiatives.
  • Engage in the full software development lifecycle, from concept to deployment.
  • Mentor and support other developers within the Runtime team in technical skills and best practices.

Who You are

In addition to the above we think you also have:

  • A MSc in Computer Science, or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • Solid experience with embedded programming using Linux systems, with at least five years' working experience.
  • Proven experience in a leadership or mentorship capacity within a software development team.
  • Strong proficiency in C and C++, with experience in Rust being a strong advantage.
  • Knowledge of operating systems concepts.
  • Interest in different programming languages and skilled in utility scripting languages such as Python, Shell, and Make.
  • Experience in working with open-source software.
  • Knowledge of network-oriented API concepts.
  • Experience with connected software platforms.
  • Experience with OpenEmbedded and Yocto.
  • Exceptional communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
